PAUL GEUDON
With over 30 years of experience as a Creative Director in London, Hamburg, and New York, I’ve spent much of my career art directing photoshoots alongside some of the world’s top photographers. While I’ve always had my own camera in hand—capturing travel, lifestyle, and the world around me—it wasn’t until the quiet pause of Covid that I turned my long-time passion into something more.
Upgrading from my trusty old Canon 5D MkII to a Sony setup, I started photographing my son’s rugby matches. What began as a personal project quickly grew into something bigger. As my skills and kit evolved, so did the opportunities—shooting high-profile grassroots fixtures, University Academy games with Hartpury BUCS, and the 2024/25 Season as a Consultant for Champ Rugby club, Coventry Rugby, working on everything from match day action to behind-the-scenes training, helping shape the club’s visual storytelling across social media and marketing campaigns.
For the 2025/26 Season, I’m still supporting Hartpury University but I’m now also working with The Rugby Paper, where I’m trying to visit as many Nat 1 and Nat 2 Clubs as possible. Having the opportunity to cover and collaborate on these fixtures are something I’m really enjoying – the beating heart of the sport, made up from community Clubs with clear pathways from Mini’s to Senior’s.
Photography has shifted from a creative outlet to a fully-fledged part of my professional life. It’s a rare thing to turn a side-hustle into a second career, and I feel incredibly fortunate to now blend my decades of visual experience with my lifelong love of capturing the moment.
